Year 2008 Schedule

Please remember that pre-registration is required for all courses...  Pre-registion and payment are required on all courses to ensure that you have a spot!

First Aid/CPR/AED for the Schools and Community  

This course contains 3 modules --

Adult CPR/AED:
Learn to give care in emergency situations including choking, unconsciousness, drowning, cardiac arrest
Course length: 4 1/2 hours

Child/AED & Infant CPR:
Learn to help save a life of a child from birth to age 8. This course includes choking, unconscious, drowning and other sudden emergencies
Course length: 4 1/2 hours

First Aid Basics:
Learn to help in sudden emergencies including instruction for sudden illness, bruises, breaks, strains, bites, severe bleeding, burns, and heat/cold related.
Course length: 3 1/2 hours

Includes book, testing, & certification card.

Scheduled Class Dates for Saturdays

       February 2nd   Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm
March 22nd   Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm
April 26th   Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm
June 1st   Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm
Please note that the Saturday class is taught in this order: Adult CPR, Infant and Child CPR and First Aid.



Challenge Course


For a Challenge Course, participants must be able to pass the written test and all skills for the component desired without any instruction or viewing of the DVD. If you are unable to pass either the skills or written test then you are required to take a full course. One-half of your Challenge Course fee will be carried over to a full class held within that same month.



CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (CPR/PR)  

This course is a more advanced CPR course which includes instruction for Adult CPR, Child and Infant CPR, two-person CPR, use of the resuscitation mask and bag valve mask plus AED.
Course length: 8 hours

Includes book, mask, testing & certification card.   $10 off if student already has a pocket mask.

Scheduled Class Dates:

March 15th    Sat 9am - 5pm
April 16th & 17th    Tues & Wed 5:30pm - 9:30pm


Babysitting 

This course will teach children ages 11 to 15 how to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in basic care, safety, safe play, and first aid.
Course length: 6 hours

Includes book, first aid & safety packet, testing, & certification.  Includes lunch.

February 23rd  Saturday 9:00am-3:30pm

May 17th   Saturday 9:00am-3:30pm



Instructor Training 

Have you thought about having one of your staff attend training to become authorized as an American Red Cross Instructor? The cost for this course is $200 which includes all materials and testing. Successful completion of this training authorizes the instructor to teach the following: Adult CPR, Infant and Child CPR, First Aid, AED, Preventing Disease Transmission (blood-borne pathogen training)
